JWC Lecture 2011
Biofilms and the management: from concept to reality
How can a better understanding of wound biofilms change your clinical practice? And what is the likely impact on clinical outcomes?
At the second JWC annual lecture, sponsored by sorbion, two of the world’s leading microbiologists, Steve Percival and Randy Wolcott, describe the first steps being taken to answer these questions. Addressing an audience of leading clinicians in wound care, they give examples from clinical practice showing how biofilm wound management has produced dramatic results in non-healing wounds, in many cases avoiding the need for amputation.
